Well , he was a friendly chappie.
He knew his stuff and he quickly got the spray gun out and squirted the buzzing blighters !
We can't go in the room for 4 hours and then all should be ok. If we still see or hear anything after two days we have to call him back but he said he didn't think that was likely.
One job sorted, and My Mom feels a lot easier knowing it has been dealt with.

I'm glad it was taken care of that quickly. Wasps are mean and I'd hate it if you or your mom got stung.

My Mom did get stung over the weekend. I was at home so couldn't help but she had a special wipe to deal with a sting so it wasn't too painful for long.

@Traceyjayne I'm sorry that happened...
A few years ago I learned a good trick to use for insect stings/bites... Turn on a hair dryer as hot as you can stand it and point it at the sting/bite for a few minutes and then turn it off. Be careful not to burn yourself... The sting/bite should be pain-free for a few hours and then the pain comes back. Use the hair dryer again for a few minutes and the pain should be gone for good.
Different types of venom are made of proteins... Heat breaks down the proteins and renders them inoperable. When the sting/bite starts hurting again, that's the rest of the venom from the sting/bite coming to the surface of the skin so has to be neutralized, too.

@DaddyEvil well ....I did not know that. One of the things she had to get out of the cupboard was an old hair dryer ....if only we had known your trick at the time !

Ah well that's good .
It seems the nest is not in your house then which is the best news.
I hope that they do not return

We checked carefully in the room before we went to bed last night and we couldn't see anything. We didn't open the cupboard where they were coming out ....just in case, and to give whatever was sprayed the maximum time to work. We checked again this morning and still nothing so we are hopeful now the chappie worked his magic.

Hope so.
If he had found the nest then I would have been .ore confident you were in the clear.
