More Scenery From the Last Trip

With the problems that the site is having with photos, I’ve waited to add this one (if you’re having trouble, make the photo small sized). That’s the shore of Lake Barkley/Cumberland River at the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
When I went across the first lake (Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River) I noticed a pedestrian/bicycle path on the bridge. After toodling through the recreation area, I stopped after going over the second lake and walked the pedestrian path out about a third of the way over the bridge.
That was a NICE walk and even nicer views.
While on the way home I stopped at a new-to-me state park, Pennyrile Forest. Its main feature is Pennyrile Lake and a large beach for public swimming. The forest was cool (as in, the external temperature reading on my car dropped about six degrees F) as well.
Where will I go next? You all know that I have no clue.
However, I took the major step toward the next trip today: I had the oil changed and the car serviced. The technician said that the car is in great shape everywhere.
So, until the next one…thanks for riding along!!
The photo is the rocky edge of Lake Barkley at the Land Between the Lakes.

There was someone on the river bank by the parking lot fishing. The Eagles referred to it as a “peaceful easy feeling.”

It’s still there!
If we went to that park when I was a kid I don’t remember. Definitely not the type of place my dad would have wanted to go.

Glad you like the history and scenery. Sorry about the country music I play in the car.
