It's Thursday...It's a Good Day

I know that lately my posts have been pretty gloomy but today is different. We got so much good news yesterday that today is going to be good...despite the rain. My husband had his job interview yesterday. It's for a place called PLC, they're a traffic control company. If his drug test comes back they'll get him started. He did that yesterday too so I'm thinking probably Monday. it'll be rough, a lot of night work and on call but he seems to want it so we'll make it work. I also found out that at some point today my dad will be transferred to a rehab center. The goal and what they think they can do is get him self sufficient again. He can stand but now we need him to walk. You can tell he's getting better because he's getting crankier and meaner. It's all great news though. Today I'm focusing on getting back to work. I got everything done for my practical and Kari from EMS helped me get all the paperwork onto a USB so I can get it sent off. I'm really excited about this and hopefully I pass it. If I do then I'll be commissioned in the educator category. It doesn't mean so much in the volunteer service but if we ever move it will. I'm forward thinking like that. With everything going on, I've been doing the minimum computer work. Today I'm starting to get back to it. I need to shake this off and get it moving again. I was doing so well and then everything happened at once so I stopped. I got this though. When it comes to reading, it should start getting easier to get some time in. Right now I'm stealing a few minutes here and there. I've said it before but I really am close to finishing that ARC. On the plus side if he starts with this company I'll probably get some good reading done lol. The kittens are all doing great. Nemo was kicked out of the pen a couple weeks ago but he's thriving with Simba. The pen has calmed down a lot as well. All kittens are great and babies are even better. Everyone is on hard food so now we also need a third food bowl. The big ones are getting the bowl and the little ones can't push their way through yet. We'll get it fixed up though. Once we get things settled again we're going to make a floor in there. Where the rain leaks in, not the whole pen. The poison ivy is still driving me nuts. I'm band-aided up and wearing long sleeves. let me tell you how miserable that is when the weather gets warmer during the day. Saturday is going to be in the 90's and I'm working EMS so it's going to be a load of freaking fun. I'm working for Chris today. I can't really say with anymore as I don't get treated like a friend anymore just an employee. That's just a whole thing in itself. My husband can't wait for me to be able to quit here and go back to being home. We had that debate yesterday too, working vs being a housewife. With that being said though, I'm not giving up EMS. He wants me to be able to take the shifts when I can get them. I turned down about five shifts because it was too close for her to find someone to cover me. My hubby wants me to be able to say yes and actually use the skills I went to school for. The pocket hugs are going well in the shop. I'm glad I finally got around to them. They're small and just cute ways to say I love you or I'm thinking of you. I hid one for my friend today when I took her, her tea. I'll give her one for her daughter when I see her Saturday as well. I know they can both use one. So what's everyone else up to today? Is life being good to you or are you just faking it till you make it? I know a little about both lol.
