What's your internet speed?

I have a habit of checking my Internet speed wherever I go. That gives me an idea of which internet provider is giving me what quality of service. That's really handy.
You can also compare between services and select the better one. Also, if you are traveling then also you can gauge what kind of service you are getting. I mean there are a lot of conclusions you can draw.
That's the top speed I got which you can see in the image here.
How's the speed for you?

That's tremendous speed considering what I'm getting. But may I tell you one thing? Even at that speed I can watch even 1440p videos without buffering. Also, I don't need to download, upload, or stream anything.
So practically I don't need that much. I'm good with whatever I'm getting.

We have come such a long way in terms of data consumption and internet speed that a few MBPS of it still looks low! I mean I'm not talking about only your response. A lot of people here also talk the same thing. The technology has developed and so it's but natural that we think on these terms.
"In the internet, it's not just speed that determines how many milliseconds of data can be sent at that speed." I'm not much into these technicalities. So, I just understand that better speed means more data transfer

@May2k8 Exactly. Not all areas have such great speeds. That is why it's important to check from location to location what kind of service you are getting. Yes agreed that there can be some problems and technical errors due to which any company cannot provide consistent and high speed services all the time.
Also the volume of people pulling data also makes it impossible for any service provider to consistently keep providing the same amount of speed.
For example, in rural areas it may not be necessary to have the same level of infrastructure as compared to a location with higher number of people, or where there is concentration of offices, etc.

@abhi_bangal I ever been at 40mbps but it's nothing like that, sometimes there is an error in receiving or sending data if there is interference in a particular area. And not all areas have such great speeds.

@rakski We have got so used to high speed now, that anything less isn't acceptable. Or it even seems to be of the yesteryears

That's around 10 times more than mine. Tremendous speed.
Here mostly what happens is that we get upload speeds slightly less than the download speed. But in your case, it looks like the opposite story.

@abhi_bangal true. That is why it's very annoying when there is a problem

What are you saying? 1TBPS? That speed is insane man. Even if you are gaming, that still is out of the world. I'm not into gaming AT ALL. So, I've no idea as to what it takes for online gaming.
I'm comparing your 500MBPS or 1TBPS speed to basic needs. Or at the most watching the best of 1440p.

That's great speed. It'll never buffer at that speed even if you are watching at 1440p.

I don't know how I missed this response from you.
Yes we have talked about the internet speed and how it would be like on a 4G and 5G network. So as I said earlier, whatever I am getting I am pretty much satisfied with that. And you too might be!

@Ineeddentures It'll take time for 5G to reach your place I suspect. But like we have talked so many times in the past, neither you nor me will get any credible advantage by shifting from 4G to 5G.

There are many tools and websites that allow you to check your internet speed even while you are surfing. I also do the same thing. And many users here might also be doing the same.

I like doing the same thing when I travel too it’s a great way to know what to expect. As for my speed, it’s usually decent, but definitely varies depending on location. That top speed you got looks impressive!

I think the speed that various of you friends mentioned, is way too higher than the one that I'm getting. It's not like I'm getting something out of the world
But yes, my internet speed varies from place to place. At some locations it comes down so much that it's literally impossible to surf.
