Are you able to admit when you were wrong?

This morning, I was watching some YouTube videos about the crash of that Air India 787 a few days ago.
My initial hypothesis was that the pilots tried to retract the landing gear, but instead retracted the flaps, which are necessary to gain altitude after takeoff.
But I have since learned that the landing gear lever and flaps lever are nowhere near each other on the control panel of a Boeing 787.
I have to "back off" on my hypothesis. It is still out there, but I am researching other possibilities.
In the world of politics, many people find it hard to admit they were wrong. You may know people like that right now. .
Are you able to admit you were wrong about something?

I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.
I’m frequently wrong, so why not admit it!!!

That’s a really interesting observation, and I agree—if something is clearly wrong or off, then admitting it is definitely the right thing to do. I think there’s strength in being able to say, “I was wrong,” especially when the facts point that way. It shows openness to learn and grow. In politics or even in everyday life, though, some people treat it like a weakness, when it’s actually the opposite. So yes—if it’s glaring, then owning up to it just makes sense.

I found the Air India videos to be quite upsetting.
I'm getting better at admitting I was wrong. I used to fight it.

Of course... as soon as you show me documented proof that I'm wrong, I'll admit it might have happened once or, heaven forbid, twice in my life.

I can admit when I am wrong and then attempt to learn from my mistake
