I don't remember a time when I didn't believe in God. Even with all the things that seem to be inconsistent with the Bible and the world we live in, I have found that eventually faith will resolve all questions. Faith is more than philosophy. It is also knowledge and expectation. What about you? Do you have faith in God?

I have faith in God. He saved me, a sinner, and when the world is overwhelming to me, I cling to His promises.

We are kindred spirits, Amber. There's no greater peace than to know God cares for us and is faithful to keep His promises.

A relationship with God builds more faith in him, as does loving God. Some things are hard to understand, but when we connect to God, we realise that his truth lives in all things, and nothing is inconsistent with God, except that which we see as inconsistent, because of our lack of understanding.

Exactly. Many things we will not understand this side of heaven. That's faith and hope, knowing we will eventually understand all things.

@innertalks I agree. There's no place for ego in a relationship with God. Every good thing comes from Him, so there is plenty of space for gratitude but none for ego.

@clrumfelt Yes, well said. The Bible tells us that God has many things to share with us, but he will only share them with us when we are ready to understand them, and this might only happen in heaven, but as we grow in wisdom here, we can grow in some understanding too, but at the same time, we must not allow our increased understanding to replace some of our faith too, building our ego, rather than our heart. We need to keep a strong faith, at all times.

I believe in God because the resurrection of Christ was historically proven fact, and the creation story in Genesis best explains our current existence and human condition. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 5:24 - and He was buried, and rose again the third day according the Scriptures.
