Waste of time ....No physio for me today !!!

So, the taxi was booked ....we arrived at the hospital ....found the physio dept. No one on the reception desk so we had to go back downstairs to sign in. We were called in after only a few minutes ....the waiting room was empty. Firstly the physio guy thought I was there as I had recently broken my arm .....I had to explain it was because my arm and hand was swollen and I was having trouble bending my fingers..... He took one look and said ..." I can't do anything about that ! " I explained that I was due to have a doppler scan on Wednesday. " I will make ytou an appointment to come after that then " ....we arranged a date and time. It was next Monday at 4.30pm I got a text when I got home to say the appointment was 30th JULY .....it should be June ! I also had been told to use an ice pack, but when I mentioned that he said ..." oh no, we don't do that anymore....infact it can make things worse. We say do not use iced packs ". He also was talking about the operation whereas previously the consultant was saying hopefully that was not needed. I am getting very frustrated at hearing different things every time I go to the hospital. Also it cost £16 in taxi fares.

I just felt messed about. I am trying hard to do what I am told but it seems to be changing all the time. This has been going on since April.

I have appointments tomorrow to get the dressing under my arm changed and to have my doppler scan....I am certainly going to ask questions .... Both the dressing and the scan are needed because they didn't check things properly , which has annoyed me even more. They are also causing me more bother than the actual brokem arm ! The taxi fare is £8 each way....no way of claiming anything back either !

@Ineeddentures I am looking into that.It is tricky to sort out i hear. Trouble is it is only for the patient and my Mom likes to come with me .....and I like her company and support.

The physio guy should have referred you to someone else right away to rule out more serious conditions. He didn't do his job.

He didn't seem very interested at all to be honest.

I'm sorry... That doesn't sound like the physio guy knew what he was talking about... I think I'd talk to my regular doctor and see if he/she could sort things out for me. I hope you can get some answers soon. Good luck!

I have just told The Mister about it and he feels the same as you . I am back on Wednesday for a scan and to have a dressing changed so I will mention it then.
