Do cookery programmes inspire you to cook more .....

At the moment we are watching a repeat of The Great British Bake Off. It is probably about 8 years old. I do like most cookery programmes....however , although I often see things that look delicious I admit that I very rarely cook anything that I have seen on these programmes. So, my question is ....do you watch cookery programmes and if so, do they inspire you to cook more often....

I did once. It was 20 years ago, and I was sick, in the midst of a 5 year long battle to find a diagnosis. I watched a program on how to make 5 different kinds of chicken soup from one chicken in a pot. For some reason, I wanted to do that so badly. I sent my mom to the store (I was too sick to go), and she came back with all these herbs, spices, and vegetables from the show ‘s list of ingredients, and I spent hours making them. They were all good, but I never really did that again. But one cooking session on one show just struck a chord and I got busy that one day. I love The Great British Bake-off. It always makes me feel happy.

No, I'm just not interested in watching them. I tried watching one once but the things they were making were fiddly and complicated... Most of the things I cook are one pan meals.

@Traceyjayne The only time I'm willing to get fancier than that is when we invite guests over... Then I will cook a large meal "properly" as mom used to call it.

Sometimes, especially if I see something that looks good.

sometimes. But then I my hopes get crushed when they can make something really nice out of something and I cannot.

Oh yes I get very inspired to cook by watching Master Chef. I think it's the best one to watch to get inspired. Ready Steady Cook was good , Lenny Henry was excellent on it
