Playboy: What's it all about, Burt?
Burt Bacharach: One thing that's really essential is affecting people's sex lives with your music. I remember a girl on a plane from California to New York. We had a drink, and she asked me for an autograph, and after she had another drink, she confessed she couldn't make it unless she had one of my albums on. That really made me feel terrific. You feel like you're there and that you're contributing to their sexual happiness. Another girl told me she could get off just by listening to "New York Lady" on the new album. That made me feel good, too. That's even a little different from having your music contribute to two or three or four people having a good time in bed. Here there's one person who comes listening to your music.
-------Burt Bacharach, in "Playboy Magazine," October 1979 (Page 24).
Burt is trying to get me demonetized again by talking about nothing but sex, group sex and solo sex. Additionally, he mentioned a second song, despite knowing full well that MyLot would only allow one clickable link.
Not that I mind any of them, mind you. In fact,I enjoy all of them. And I don't even have any Burt Bacharach albums anymore...That's a long sad story involving a divorce and several moves that we don't have time for tonight, but maybe we'll get to it someday.
I was born a someday man. I'm a maybe child---Oh, if you bet on that being the Cosmic Universal Anthem Song Of The Month Club Anthem Song for today, sorry, cause you are going to bigly lose.
#BetWithYourHeadNotOverIt
Our real issue tonight is this question: Why does Burt Bacharach keep time-traveling back to 1979 to make my life a living heck?
See what I did there. By using the less offensive "heck" instead of the widely offensive "Hell," I scored a lot of points with the Censor.
And she says I can score way more than that, even.
Just as soon as I bring a Burt Bacharach album over to her apartment.
With that in mind, let's go to Wonderific Wednesday, August 24, 1966, to see what the Cosmic Universal Anthem Song Of The Month Club Anthem Song For today is.

Amazing how music can affect you. It reminds me of the movie “10”, where Dudley Moore couldn’t ‘get it on’ with Bo Derek, unless he was listening to Ravel’s Bolero.
Cilla Black was very popular here, but I couldn’t stand her voice. For me, she hit so many screechy bum notes, she was unlistenable. Sheridan Smith, who played Cilla in the TV drama was/is a much better singer. What’s that all about, Alfie?

I think there's a remake of "Alfie" the movie but don't know if it has this song in it. I think I liked the Michael Caine version... yes, I probably did: there's a certain appeal to bad boys
and Michael was dishy back then.
