It's morning. Not necessarily good but it's morning.
Dad is officially in rehab. He was evaluated yesterday and we're starting from scratch. He has absolutely no muscle mass so his two weeks went to eight. He's not eating and barely drinking. We try to stay positive but he keeps lashing out, not at the RN's or Doctors but at my mom and occasionally me.
I know I have thick skin but man, it's getting rough.
Honestly I'm just exhausted.
I don't really know how else to say it.
Between working, the fire department, EMS, my dad, my mom, taking care of the house...
There's a lot going on and I need to keep it together. I use the department to get away from the house. It's something else to focus on, something that I can kind of control.
I've been picking up more EMS shifts this month which is great but it leaves Chris in a lurch with her grandmother but really I'm not sorry about that. I love her grandmother don't get me wrong but I swear whoever said you shouldn't work for or with friends was right. I'm not even a friend anymore, I'm a taken for granted employee. I'm wearing down with this as well.
My husband is going to do onboarding today for a new job. Basically the really boring paperwork that you have to do when you start a new job. It's not high paying, barely middle of the road but it's something for right now. I was hoping something else would come through but so far nope. Hopefully this one won't be as bad as we think they'll be.
I've been keeping the house clean, dinner cooked.
I finally finished the ARC from Carrie Ann Ryan and now I have to do the reviews for it. It was a really good book and sweet. She usually writes very sweet books.
Once I finished that one I started Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts. I'm one chapter in and I'll find time at some point to get into it.
The shop is doing ok. It's in a little bit of a slump but that's ok. I know I have awesome Fourth of July stuff and I'll just keep advertising. I'll get above water at some point.
I made a sherbert type lip gloss yesterday. Orange, lemon and key lime because I couldn't find regular lime lol. It's nice though.
Pretty sure I'm going to start baking outside with as hot as it's been. Someone joked this morning about directions to bake a lasagna in your mailbox. They're not wrong though.
I'm looking into getting my caregiver's certification. It's only about a hundred and fifty for the classes, which are all online, an ID and a certificate. It's basically everything that I already know so it should be a breeze. Plus it'll help me when taxes come and all the work I've done for Chris, I can claim self employment.
Things are just crazy but I'm surviving. I feel like that about all I'm doing right now is surviving.
My sister wants me to take a day to just breathe but I don't know when I can do that. She wants us to come up and visit but we have no money to do that. I wish we could because I really would. I wouldn't tell anyone but her and my mother in law and just breathe for a weekend or so.
Anyway, I have computer work to do and notes to take.
How is everyone else's day going so far? Any plans or is a routine day?

I hope by some miracle you can find time to get away. With everything going on and having so much on your plate I'm worried you're going to burn out and be good for nothing. Even caretakes need to take care of themselves.

It's just hard to do right now. I'll be taking a couple hours on Saturday but then it'll probably be back to work. More than likely on my shop.

I"m glad your Dad is in rehab. I hope it goes well for him. Thanks for the update. Nothing special happening here today. You do need to take a break.
