Say 'Sure' but do what You Want

I was about ten when I got the 'trick'.
Parents tell me to do something, I say, "Sure" but do what I want. In this way I avoided a lot of drama.
It went on for years until my mother overheard me telling my cousin, {who had been ordered to do something by his mother} "Just say sure and do what you please."
Seeing the Trump show, how every nation is bending the knee and showering compliments, I know exactly what they are doing.
They are shutting up a vicious bully who needs to get his way. As he has a short attention span, when he moves on to some other issue, they'll do what they want, and he won't notice.

exactly. why waste breath and time... seem to go along with the herd but do what you want. Iran knows this and they are probably laughing themselves sick.. it is so easy to play a clown like Trump.
The Muskrat did it well until he didn;t get what he wanted so tossed his toys out of the pram

@LadyDuck exactly. Poor Zelensky thought he was dealing with a human being not a dirty diaper loud mouthed. The world saw it and took note and decided how to play the Orangutang..
1. act impressed
2. pretend to listen intently
3. seem to defer and obey
Then the horrible Orangutang will march off in victory and having a short attention span won't remember more than the obeisance.
And the world will do what it chooses off the front page
