The story of black pepper

We have pepper vines that are trained on the areca nut and coconut trees. Around December we see a few pepper pods turning red. They have to be harvested immediately else the birids will finish them The harvested pepper is placed in gunny bags for a few days as they loosen from the spike. The separated pepper is then put in the sun for drying for about 8 days Pepper is now ready for sale. We keep a little for our own consumption

Black pepper is expensive. I bought a 300 grams jar last week, it will last for a while.

300 grams of pepper should last you for a long time.

Black pepper I have a few varieties of that in the kitchen Sometimes our neighbour grows peppers

It's an essential masala in our nonveg curries. As for me I need it spice up my morning tea . It's not grown in our area. We have to buy it from grocery shops.
