Spent 90 Minutes with the Banker

It was supposed to be so easy.
We just wanted to open a Checking Account and get a Credit Card at a new bank. Easy peasy.
Nope.
Documents and information and forms and questions. OMG you would think we were taking out a $1 million mortgage or something.
We weren't "borrowing" money, we were "giving them" money.
But overall the people there were nice and patient and everything's turning out the way we wanted it to.
How has your banking experience been lately?

I've only been into a bank twice in the past 10 years or so. I will need to go soon to change my beneficiaries. They are always very nice.

It seems to be fine. I haven't dealt that much with banks lately honestly.

@looeyville I haven’t been inside a bank for about 2 years thankfully. All my dealings are on line and I’ve not had any reason to complain. Recently opened a new checking account to keep some money separate and it was nearly too quick and easy. I still even have an account with a bank in Paris from when I lived there - just enough money on it to keep it open.

I worked all the "deals" available to me such as free annual fee, free checking, and $900 bonus for opening and maintaining an account for 90 days

@Ineeddentures Very rarely, but the savings account interest rate was the same as the checking account interest rate, and we wanted a Debit Card to access our money, so we chose to open a checking account
