A layered cake

Looking at those layers my mough waters. That is what a Black Forest cake is all about
I had the opportunity to taste it when I was holidaying in Germany but never got to taste it again as no matter how well the photo is presented it can never taste the same as theone, one gets to eat while in Germany.
Have you eaten the original Black Forest Cake?

Sorta, kinda, but not really, per se. At 16, I went to work for a baker in Pennsylvania who was an immigrant from Germany. His goodies may not have been prepared and baked in his motherland, but, man, did they taste delicious.

A few years ago we used to have this dessert often. You don’t see them in the shops so much now. I really like them.

@allknowing I don’t know …they are always thought of a dessert from the ‘70’s and so a bit old fashioned. I guess that must be it.

That is the problem with items that have a name but taste different I had bought something from Amazon that was called Belgian chocolates but they were far from Belgian
