Good news dear friends
I am glad to report that Yvonne is a bit better now than she has been over the last two weeks
I think the COPD flare up is over .
Thank goodness for that.
Her O2 saturations have returned to 96% which is very very good for Yvonne
Her respirations are sitting low 60,s which is excellent
All the hard work these last two weeks that we have both put in to contain this flare up and infection has paid off.
Let's hope we don't have to deal with another flare up for a long time
Thank you all for all your kind words and wishes for Yvonne
We do appreciate each and every one

Thanks Raquel
So do I.
I saw the improvement a couple of days ago
But didn't want to say so until I was as sure that I could be that she was out of the woods

@allknowing exactly.
So that is why they need to be reduced now
Steroids give COPD sufferers a bit of a boost and can help reduce inflammation on the lungs so for a week or so along with an anti biotics we increase the dosage when a flare up occurs

Yvonne has very severe COPD
She has had a flare up and infection for the last two weeks
Controlling it has been difficult.
But the readings from my wee machine would suggest the flare up is over.
So now I can cease the anti biotics and reduce steroids dose and maybe reduce nebuliser from 6 per day, to 3

Why is your heartbeat so fast Anna
I think Yvonne's O2 saturation is quite good all things considered
It is higher than mine

Me too Eva
I had some thoughts that if we didn't get the flare up under control that we would have real problems
No medical intervention was sensible.
Yvonne doesn't like doctors or hospitals
Home was the best place for her and we have all them meds here for such occurrence

Well Judy.
It's tough knowing what 100% better looks like.
But last night she was as better as she has been in maybe 3.weeks
So it's a step in the right direction

I have not seen her 02 saturations at 96% in a while.
Given her 40% lung function we are at as good as it gets time I think
