Buffalo Bills Maxwell Hairston is being accused of sexual assault.
We have another player that hasn't even been in the NFL yet. He was a first round draft pick and training camps have barely started.
The accuser claims that he sexually assaulted her back in 2021 when they attended the University of Kentucky together and living in the same dorm.
There's been a lot of no comments and declining to make a statement. The woman has provided her name and a description of what had happened.
now here's the catch to this one, the woman claims that she filed a report with the police just hours after the incident and completed a hospital SANE exam. The SANE exam is a sexual assault nurse examiner.
The Lexington police say that there is no such report however the Fayette County Sheriff's Office declined to comment.
I'm not really sure what to believe on this one. The University declined to say anything because the information needs to stay confidential so I can understand that.
I thought it was funny that he had an allegation on him yet was still allowed to be a part of the draft and be selected.
I feel that there needs to be more information.

For years, even decades, the joke-that’s-no-joke has been that “NFL” stands for “National Felons League.” Another common not-joke joke was that “I predict the (whatever team was having a slew of arrests in the offseason) will be 10-6 this year: ten arrests, six convictions.”
I don’t know why this is so prevalent in football. Not that other sports don’t have criminal activity, but it’s really rampant in football.

Some of them I find hard to believe. I'm all for the victims being heard but like this one, it's a little odd. In a way I think everyone got so caught up in hearing the victim that now some speak up and we believe no questions asked. I think questions need to be asked because these allegations can destroy not only people's careers but their whole lives as well.

@JordanLader — you’re right. Ask Trevor Bauer. Innocent, and yet his once-brilliant career was destroyed by false allegations. Now he’s pitching in a Japanese minor league.

@FourWalls Yeah, see just destroyed. And I just don't see a law office lying about a report. I could be wrong but I don't see it. We'll have to see how it turns out.

So why has it not been , well, prosecuted , or even investigated if she reported it back in 2021.
Surely the cops would have interviewed him back then
Innocent until proven guilty .
I don't think an allegations( untried, unproven, not investigated) would be enough to stop him from advancing his career

In the NFL it technically should have stopped him. If it can get you kicked out then it should stop you from advancing.
This story sounds weird to me.

So I was wrong.
Innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply

@Ineeddentures Sadly not in the NFL. It's guilty until proven innocent. Just look at Tucker and as odd as it sounds for me of all people to say it, Deshaun Watson. We had them convicted on the women who came forward alone and I'm sorry but that's not right.

Weird how things work. Money always seems to turn it all around.

It truly does. If you throw money at the problem it seems to make it go away

A lot of those NFL players are THUGS! I don't know enough about this case.
