WWII veteran Leslie Lemon has reache his 106th birthday. He says the secret is to eat one sweet food every single day. His current favourite treat is rhubarb and custard - but is also partial to trifle and custard - and prefers his sweet treat cold. He celebrated his 106th birthday this week - having been born on July 1, 1919.

@RasmaSandra I like the concept. endulaging on anything can turn bad, but allowing yourself that pleasure on the regular helps curb cravings and avoid over doing it.

@kaylachen at least he is doing something enjoyable since he likes to eat sweets, I do not want such a long life but the sweet part sounds good, I will get myself a chocolate cake when I get groceries on Saturday

The one sweet food every day is something I must try
But that would mean I have to cut down.
I hope I reach 106 if I don't need a diaper and can feed myself and get dressed myself and go to the toilet unaided

@marguicha it does seem like a very long time but he at least accepts that and looks good because he has no choice but to keep living as long as the Lord is not calling him home.

@Fluera now when I order my groceries I will not forget to pick up some sweet stuff but I am already tired so I don't think I would want to live that long, The guy looks great so he is doing something right,

Never listen to old people like that, they lie.
Truth is they not sure why they lived so long, but thing I think they do know is they just enjoyed life. Many people, like I have to make most money, I have to be the smartest. This dude is true when he says what did it for him is eating some damn good pie and just enjoying the world. Enjoy it, stop thinking you have to be some one.
