It is not always easy to stick to the first job one finds and one needs to finally settle down may be after a few experiences. My first job was with a 'one man show' if I might call that I was not at all happy there. I gave up after working for just a couple of months and this was repeated until I found a job where I worked for 3 years They were dealing in artificial pearls and beads My last job was with a multinational where I worked for 22 years until I called it a day and started my own business designing and executing landscaped gardens. Today I am a lady of leisure just enjoying Solitaire. What's your story? Image credit:

I enjoyed my first job, beautiful office and I only had to translate documents. But I met a young man there who asked to me to go to work with him and we became husband and wife and we worked together during all our life.

@allknowing - I was very well where I was working, but this young man seemed so desperately in need of a secretary/assistant. I am glad I decided to work for him.

I got let go from McDonald's at 19, spent 10 years in college fighting mental health problems, finally got my degree as a pyrrhic victory, and now basically I take whatever the Internet will pay me. I find that websites argue and lie and reject less than humans do. I have an English B.A. and a web design A.S., so my financial path forward probably just consists of making websites of my own. But I'm still suffering from emotional wounds from my past battles and really don't want advice. I'm still thinking about my content strategy and how best to monetize my site ideas. I would take a part-time job if I could get it, but I keep getting rejected, and I know part of the reason is that I don't really want to put up with lies, lie to customers, and play the game. I don't want to put in the effort, and honestly I'm beyond too far gone. I'm basically trapped, and I know it. The mental illness and the abuse games explain the job gap, but if I say that, they will never believe I've recovered from the CPTSD and have the ADHD under management. They don't want to hire someone with an active mental illness. If I try to sweep the gap under the rug, I look lazy and entitled, like I spent 10 years in college on purpose to evade adult responsibility when I was fighting a war for my life. I was smart enough to get the only degrees that would allow me to escape this hopeless vise, now I need to use them on behalf of myself. I'm still fighting the damage my abuser made in my life, that's just what I have to do in order to live.

@laser_vision Since you have now given me the licence () to advise you I would say just look at your plus points and start with something small.

@allknowing It's okay, you can. It's just a hard thing to understand and give advice to, I don't want to have to endure and correct bad advice that doesn't help again (which is frustrating), nor make everyone feel terrible for not being able to help me. But I will find the path to success in time.
