A dying Bee

July 6, 2025 8:19am CST
I am trying out the Macro setting on the camera on my phone. Not at all sure if so am doing it correctly but surely I will get it right sooner rather than later. I found a new on one of my Raspberry bushes and sadly I think it is buzzing it's last buzz. It was moving, but maybe it was just the breeze making it move. So I took a few snaps And then I tried to photograph some flowers. Any advice.. I am finding it quite difficult to keep the camera still when taking a photo.

It's hard to take macro, the camera must be very close to the subject, but the built in anti shake usually does a good job.

@Ineeddentures You do not need to operate it, it's always present.

Sorry about the bee. I wonder why it was dying. No advice, because I don't take close up shots too often. I took one a few months ago of the rings on a tree though. I was thinking about posting it on myLot but didn't get around to it. I still might, if I am hard up for a discussion. It's annoying posting pics on here though.

I have no idea why it is dying . It maybe got caught in the rain overnight Rings on a tree would look cool. I would like to see that

@Ineeddentures That's a good shot. Maybe you should put up a website and try to sell some, or there are apps where you can sell your pics too.

Some mobiles now have a camera setting for Motion pictures but I have not tried them. You can check if your phone has that. Or may be a pro Mode where you know something about adjusting the shutter speed.

Took me long enough to find Macro. I shall look at Pro Mode and see what else it can do. Until today I had left it on low standard to keep file size down and had not gone near settings Thanks for the advice

yes.they work hard and don't last long. Beyond some of stick or tripod to steady the camera, you might be stuck

I never thought that my hand was so shaky. For all I will use a Macro setting a tripod wouldn't be worth it. Wasnt even sure if a tripod for a phone was even a available

I have a basic flip phone with a mediocre camera. I just bought a camera with all kinds of features. I should be able to take some cool pictures with it. Sorry I can't help you with your phone pix.

Macro photos are hard without a tripod of resting your hands on a solid surface
