Watching the women's football
So before the game starts
National anthems , fair enough
Then a minutes silence for Diogo Jota, the Portuguese football player killed in a car crash a week ago
And then just before kick off
The taking a knee thing
I was against this when it first blighted our sport
I thought that it had been forgotten about
Seems I was wrong
Remind me, but wasn't the taking of the knee in honour of that fine figure of a man and pillar of the community George Floyd who was murdered by a policeman in May 2020
Why is this back in the public eye now
I wonder if the lady footballers from Iceland and Switzerland knew why they were down on one knee ?
I doubt it

It's a black life matters thing
A black guy in America got killed by a cop when the cop kneeled on his neck and stopped him breathing.
So the take the knee black lives matters started doing this kneeling shite at every gathering
Then sports events started.it
I thought it was a thing of the past.
I think the cop was charged just to appease this black lives matters shite
The man killed wasn't exactly a pillar of the community

I think not in both cases.
I understood it was to imitate the coppers knee on Floyd's head. But
that is ancient history now is t it?
I hear that taking the knee may be done again at SPFL games in the coming season
It's always quite refreshing when the players who do not comply get a big cheer
