Elon Musk to float a New Party- Who Will This Affect?

Elon Musk has been saying lately that he will form his own political party. I keep wondering which of the two particles- Democrats or the Republicans will be mostly affected by this decision. I want to believe the new move is targetted at the republicans who have fallen out with Elon Musk recently.

It's likely to siphon votes from the Uniparty Democrats and Republicans that are unhappy with business as usual in DC.
A more realistic guess is that he won't be as successful as he hopes to be.
The America Party, founded by a S African and registered by an Indian already has some roadblocks to overcome. On top of that, Musk lost some credibility on the left for teaming with Trump and lost credibility with the right because he keeps having outbursts than would make a six year old envious.
I have serious reservations about his future success.

Yea , I agree, he wouldnt be as successful as he hopes to be. His rating has gone down since his support for Trump.

Yep. He has too many outbursts to be successful in politics. If he is looking to simply fund the new party, he'll find out how quickly money can be burned.
Elon should concentrate on EV's and Rockets to Mars.

Let's be real... many people hate the Muskrat. Yes, there is a small percentage of Trumpanzees who do support him. After all, he will pay them to vote for his candidates. He did this in Nov. Getting 1k to vote for him is surely an encouragement.
The Dems despise him.

New parties come and go, and rarely have any significant impact, and I suspect the same will be true of Musk's American party. We've had the Green party for decades, they've never won an election. There was the Tea party movement in the 90s that really never went anywhere. There's a Libertarian party. Any of these are really just factions of the two current major parties.
They CAN siphon off a few votes. But it's usually not enough to sway an election. But who knows? Maybe this one will be the one that actually sticks and does something?
I doubt it.

@ogbenishyna44 You can't buy elections, though, no matter how much money you have. Go ask Michael Bloomberg.
