Monday night Chores.

After dinner, I decided to tackle a couple of things I’ve been putting off for... let’s just say a while. First up: laundry. Okay, technically I haven’t been putting that off—it’s just that with five people and two dogs in this house, getting a turn at the washer feels like winning the lottery. But since everyone else's laundry was finally caught up (miracle of miracles), I figured it was safe to sneak mine in. Next, I cleaned off my nightstand—or as I like to call it, the “clutter magnet.” It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our bedroom, so naturally it becomes the dumping ground for, well, everything. But not anymore! It’s now only mildly chaotic, which in this house is basically sparkling clean. I also caught up on my planner (look at me, pretending to be organized) and got some mail ready to send out to two people. Actual mail. With stamps. Like it’s 2003. Honestly, I’ve always been more productive at night—especially since moving to Florida. I must be part owl. Or maybe it’s just that trying to do anything during the day in the Florida summer feels like trying to exist on the surface of the sun. So yeah, I’ll just blame the heat. Sounds valid. Right now, I’m bouncing between catching up on notifications here and folding the mountain of clean laundry staring at me from the corner. It’s judging me, but at least it’s clean. So hey, progress is happening! Just maybe not in the most traditional order... or with the most grace. How about you—did you conquer any chores today, or are we bonding over procrastination? Attached is a picture from the fourth of July, it's Chris and a buddy putting a game together for the kids.

I'm pretty good now with procrastination. I used to be terrible. I sometimes get a burst of energy at night but I'm really a morning person.
