What financial mistake do you think most people make these days?

Spending beyond one's income or means is one financial mistake I believe most people make today. People may end up borrowing more money to meet up with their needs. Do you also make this financial mistake or what kind of financial mistake do you constantly make?

Spending beyonds.one income is the biggest mistake people make with money
No doubt about it
I don't do that.
I never have
And as a result , we have a bit of money and no debt

If people wanted less they wouldn't spend as much on rubbish
They might then only buy what they need

My wife is an impulsive buyer. She usually runs out of budget because of that attitude.

Credit card debt. In the US alone credit card debt is 1.18 Trillion dollars or about 9,000 dollars per household.
When I was first married, we got in over our heads in credit card debt but worked it down by sacrificing all extras.
Today, my house and vehicles are paid for, we have zero credit card debt and will be current in property taxes by April of 2026.
Carrying debt can cripple a person financially.

Honestly, one of the biggest financial mistakes people make? I feel its saving only what's left.
Like, spend everything first, and then if there’s anything left at the end of the month — that’s what goes into savings.
But let’s be real… there’s never anything left.
If you want to actually save money, you have to flip that mindset.
Pay yourself first. Set aside a certain percentage right when you get your income — before anything else. Even if it’s small. Even if it feels pointless. Because saving isn’t about the amount — it’s about the habit.
Waiting to save what’s left is like hoping for leftovers when everyone’s already eaten.
If that is your mindset about saving, you’ll be left with crumbs — or nothing at all.
