Not always do you find a huge $3 billion deal getting rejected. However AI startup Windsurf CEO put everything else behind along with this huge deal. Instead of selling his company to OpenAI, he chose to join Google DeepMind.
The interesting part is that Google is neither buying the company nor is it asking for any stake. But still it is investing a huge amount of $2.4 billion. This will allow Google to license Windsurf’s technology, which in itself isn't any small thing.
It looks like the AI war is going next level as Meta, Google, OpenAI, etc are all looking to get the better of the other.

Yes, the AI war is heating up.
When one of these companies comes up with a new AI Model and special features, the rival comes up with a similar feature in some time.
With mergers and acquisitions as well, these companies are in fierce battle.

As they say, everything is fair in love and war. We have seen poaching kind of things to attract experts in the AI field. The intention behind the invitation from Mark Zuckerberg is something new and never heard of.
