The palanquins are very well preserved in the palaces and royal houses. The palanquins are called palki in bengali. The tradition has gone. It is because they are humans on both sides of the palanquins who used to carry the queens in them. thanks Judy in India after independence feudalism zamindari kingly states were all abolished. So palanquins are just historical vehicles run by human 300 years ago
