We dropped by my stepmother's house today to deliver some gifts from our recent trip. It was a brief visit, but it meant a lot. Though we are not related by blood, our bond has grown to the point where it feels like true family. She has always been warm and accepting of us, despite the fact that her relationship with my father was only a few years long. She never made us feel like outsiders. I sincerely appreciate her kindness. Life's connections can be unexpected, but sometimes the ones we least expect turn out to be the most genuine.

I am so glad to hear you did that. It must have meant the absolute world to her.

She must have made us some food and given us a present, too. In essence, we traded gifts.

That's a special relationship. You have matured by accepting her. I know how it feels to be with someone you're not related to by blood. It takes sincere effort and commitment.

Indeed, we have received communication from this stepmother, who treats us as though we were her own children. When given the chance, even my older sister would make sure to give her something. For this reason, I always ask myself, if she is that giving and considerate of us, who am I to reject or not accept her?

It's really nice to hear that you have a good relationship with your stepmother, especially considering the circumstances. She sounds a lovely person and I'm sure she is very fond of you too.

Indeed, I don't feel like I'm an outsider among them. Even though they are a large extended family, they always make it clear that we are welcome to come visit them whenever we want.
