I get questions here asking about ghee. Let me explain Ghee is made from milk cream. Most Indian homes make it and use it. It is also available in stores. We used to make it in the good old days but these days the milk that we get hardly produces cream. We buy ghee Cream is collected for a few days and is heated on slow fire until you see the ghee. You drain out the ghee and what is left can also be eaten. Ghee adds flavour to any dishes that has it. It is also applied on paranthas. Image credit:

Thanks for the explanation. I've often wondered just what ghee was.

You can make it. You must be getting milk with a lot of cream. The smell when it gets ready is so good.

Ghee adds a great flavour to the food. We use it for lunch for white rice and sambhar. The taste gets enhanced to great extent making the dish extra special.

I love the aroma of ghee and good in taste too, you can eat ghee regularly no issues but it should be without any mixing of preservatives.
