Today's scripture reading is taken from Doctrine and Covenants 78:19.
And it reads "And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more."
As what the Bible says in Thessalonians 5:18 , "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
That's in everything we should give thanks no matter what.

You're right. Some happy people are ungrateful but thankful people are happy.

@Nakitakona And manners are learned, gratefulness comes from within.

Gratefulness is shown by people who are blessed. Giving thanks to what you receive either big or small is a sign of a well-mannered person.

We should give thanks is a very basic thing even parents teach their children. The visualization and meditation masters call it "showing gratitude". And believe me, gratitude helps in unimaginable ways.

Everything carries some type of a blessing in it for us too, and if we can see that blessing, we will be thankful for it too.
Every black cloud has its silver lining too, as they say.
