The Rain Is On The Way

We have been outside trying to get ready for this storm. My husband has been on the tractor mowing for about an hour now. It will need mowing again as soon as the rain stops... I have been feeding all the pets and giving water to them. I am fixing to go back outside and do some more of that and plant a couple of peach trees. Remember those trees that I bought at Market Day in April? Yeah, those!! We both keep forgetting about them. The holes are dug, so shouldn't take long. The first time I tried to plant them ants had taken over the hole that was dug, so had to treat. Then forgot about them again. So today is the day!! Rain should be moving in around 3 pm today. As with a hurricane, the rain is moving in circular squalls. We are expecting some heavy rainfall this afternoon. Rain will continue on and off through Saturday according to the forecast. I'm hoping it is very light and ends early on Saturday since it is Market Day! What are you doing today? Are you in the path of this storm coming in from the Gulf of America? We did and was spared hard rain on Friday and none on Saturday until after Market. We just had a very fine mist on Friday. It was kind of nice!

Nope! I talked to the lady at Market that I bought them from and she advised me to wait until fall now to plant them. So I suppose that is what we will do.

@wolfgirl569 Yes, that is when I usually sell my pecan trees. I need to get some help over to get the greenhouse up!! It is still in the box! I see the doctor tomorrow so hoping this swelling issue gets addressed and on the way out the door!

Like you said, I think Florida is gotten all it's going to get. It didn't act like a tropical system from what I saw. We did get a sunshower today as we were on the way home from the store.

How lucky to have rain on the way. It was scotching hot today and I stared at the cloudless sky. It does not seem like it will rain anytime soon.

We didn't get as much as they thought we would and Thursday was the last day of any real amount of rain due to the storm. Friday was all fine mist and light sprinkles, but all good. Back to the summer thunderstorm sessions now. It has been very hot here also. The approaching storm did bring a breeze for a couple of days though, that was very welcome.

@kareng Mist rain are the best. Not too heavy and they are small droplets, gentle to the skin and all is good.

I don't know... I don't know where the Gulf of America is... If you mean the Gulf of Mexico, no, we aren't in the path of those storms. It has been storming here since sometime during the night. Storms here come from the West Coast and move across the country to the East...

The Gulf of Mexico is no more. It has been renamed.

It's raining around me, but we got about 60 drops at my house. We have a flood watch because that's the way these storms are supposed to be today: parked over one part of town, with another part of town not getting a drop.

That is so odd. That always amazes me how I can run to town and it is storming there and sunshine at my house before I left. It is less than 10 miles to town. But we see where rain hits just a mile up the road and none at our house a lot of times too.
