How We Are Coping

Those of us in the Caribbean have been making our own products for years. We've been selling to each other and to Mexico and South America so that we don't have much reliance on American products.
Almost all of our clothing comes from China as do our electronic appliances and just about everything else.
Our major 'import' are American Tourists.
We fervently desire that emigration to America of our doctors, nurses, and other professionals is barred so that we can maintain the various sectors. Hence, if Trump can block that loss of skilled workers from the Caribbean we'd be most grateful.
Unlike others, we understand that taxing foreign goods causes the price to raise locally. Only if we have replacements would we think of setting tariffs.
Hopefully, Trump will pretty much leave us alone, and go on with his policies which we know will harm America more than anywhere else.

@LadyDuck if the US had not been so helpful they'd of done it years ago.It took the US electing a monster to alert them. It makes more sense for them to trade with each other and not the US, and I guess they just realised this.
When Trump leaves office the US won';t be any kind of 'super power'

Self sufficiency is very important in this era where every country is trying to protect their economies.
