So guess what? Reliance Retail just bought Kelvinator — yeah, the same brand we used to see on fridges in the ’90s! I still remember that Ad in 1980s and 90s: "It's the Coolest one!". I honestly didn’t even know it was still around, but turns out Reliance had been selling Kelvinator products for a while, and now they’ve gone ahead and fully bought the brand. I think this is one of those smart Reliance moves. They’re already everywhere — groceries, clothes, electronics — and now they’re getting even deeper into home appliances like fridges, washing machines, and kitchen stuff. With a familiar brand like Kelvinator, they don’t have to build from scratch. People already kinda trust the name. What’s cool is that they’re going to sell these products across their stores and online platforms like Jiomart. So basically, it’s gonna be easier to find affordable appliances that aren’t no-name brands. And with Reliance backing it, I feel like the quality and support might be better too. Also, I read they paid something like $18 million for the brand — which, for Reliance, is not a big amount. Yet still, pretty smart if they can turn it into a solid budget-friendly appliance line. Kelvinator might not be fancy, but with the right push, it could become the go-to brand for middle-class homes in India again. News Link =>

@Ineeddentures Yes I got to know this when I went to purchase a new Fridge last year in a store. The sales person told me that Electrolux now sells Kelvinator fridges. Now the biggest Corporate house of India has grabbed it. I wonder if Kelvinator had a British origin? Need to check.

@Ineeddentures Yes I also checked. Yet it has been under Electrolux since a long time.

Certainly Kelvinator has been around for a long time. It's a well-known brand in Australia.
