It Rained Heavily, But.....

On my way back home I saw people running towards me from behind. I turned back to see why they were running. I was surprised to see it had started raining heavily hardly 50 feet behind me. To protect myself from getting drenched I ran to a shop for shelter, but before I could reach the shop, the rain stopped. A part of the road behind me had become wet and muddy, but the part in front of me was completely dry. This was the first time I saw this type of rain.

I've seen that before... I was rollerblading with Pretty one day when we saw a patch of wet concrete in front of us so we slowed down to keep from falling if the water made it slick... We could see rain falling on that part of the sidewalk but we were 3 meters away and completely dry. It really looks strange when that happens!

It happens. One of my friend told me it has happened with him in Kolkata. He managed to have a shelter, but by then the heavy rainfall had stopped.

@Shivram59 I wish I could have taken a picture when we saw it happening but that was before there were cellphones with cameras on them. (I had one of the bag phones back then and only carried it if we were driving somewhere. Those things were heavy and expensive as well as expensive to use!)

@DaddyEvil Old cameras are like that, but now everybody with a cellphone in their hands is a photographer, a reporter and a journalist. Am I wrong.Such rare things are worth being captured.

But what if it rains away from you and stops after a while?? You would run, won't you?? And when you get under a shelter, it suddenly stops. That's exactly what happened with me.

Very strange! The word "squall" is in my mind.

It was something like sqall. It was, I would like to call "a localised rain." I thought it would catch me, but it suddenly stopped.
