I want to plant, but

I want to plant, but whenever I do, they wither and die. Sometimes, they last for a few days and then wither. On the other hand, my late husband had a green thumb. Anything he planted, even if he didn't take care of it, grew robustly. It's good that my youngest son inherited such a trait. So, I made him replant the snake plant I bought from the mall. It's growing healthily, indeed. What about you? Do you like plants? Image is from my aunt's flower garden.

I also have a green thumb and love most plants... I cannot grow African violets or a poinsettia although I have tried several times... I've been told both those plants don't like the air flow in our house and that's not something I can change. (Those are both houseplants in the US.)

I see, do you have snake plants indoors? Do you believe that snake plants drive away evil spirits?

@DaddyEvil You don't believe in superstition. Good for you. I do to some extent, being a Pinoy.

@Jenaisle I used to have snake plants but gave them away when we moved into this house. I had to pick and choose which plants I wanted to keep because we only have a small area in the kitchen suitable for plants growing in the house. No, I don't believe snake plants drive away evil spirits.

These are so lovely and beautiful flowers. The colourful look makes them all the more attractive. Is it any shrub? What is the name of those flowers? Are they of multiple types or just one shrub? Maybe you are planting the wrong plants in the wrong whether, because the atmosphere should also suit what you are trying to grow. If you consider that you might get your answers. Or try to find out which plants are more likely to grow in the current weather that you have.

These are flowers from my aunt's garden in the U.S. I wish I had robust flowers like that in my house too. I don't know the name of the flowers. But they come in various colors. Perhaps, some of the plants don't thrive in our hot weather, but even then, not all should have withered. Thanks for the heads up.

@Jenaisle Initially I was too stubborn that each and every plant that I plant, should grow fully. If they are flowering plants, they should grow flowers. If they are fruit bearing plants then they should grow into fruit giving trees. But it was only later that I learnt things like each plant can't grow everywhere. Also they have particular season or time of the year to grow.

I like gardening. I think suitable water and sunshine really matters. If you are not sure about it, you can search more information how to plant a certain flowers. There are also lots of videos about plants and I think it is very useful.

I never liked planting because I thought I did not have that "green thumb" But then I am surprised that I can grow plants and I have now my little garden at my roof top.

We spent big bucks on getting our flower bed done. Mostly what we get is weeds.
