Tuesday morning....damp and cold.

Good morning from this side of the planet. It's 7:18 AM and I am waiting for husband to come so that we can have tea together. Packed lunch for daughter. She is having her breakfast and will leave.
It's drizzling outside and it's another damp and cold day. It's been 10 days of this kind of weather. Rain is creating havoc and many areas are flooded.
I saw the visuals in news yesterday of South Korea struggling a bad flood due to heavy rain. I hope that any mylotters from that country are safe and sound.
My throat is feeling much better, but still at times I feel like there is a small dot sticker in there and I want to scratch it.
. Home remedies are working. I am not going to take any medicine. It's just some irritation in throat and that should go in few days.
I had sent leave request yesterday. But it seems that I don't need to. I am not a regular teacher there. And the two children that I was going to take sessions did not turn up. And we got the news that one of them is down with viral and other one got foot and mouth disease. Not heard of it's outbreak, must be isolated case. They both won't be coming for this whole week.
My art sessions for middle school stay cancelled this week. School has gone online for children upto 8th grade due to rain and traffic problems. Seems like yesterday children were caught in traffic for two hours and that's concerning for younger children. School is in hybrid mode for high school.
So, I don't need to step out for work this week. I have few meetings to attend online with parents, one with assistant teachers ( we have 2 now) discussing the lesson plans and art and craft for coming month.
I have to make some weeksheets daily and mail to parents for the children to do till they don't come to school next week. It's not compulsory if the child is not feeling well. I would send some fun worksheets for them
.
I am working online from home this whole week. I should be able to peep in more
.
Hope that all is well in your myLot corner.
Stay happy and healthy.

You have a busy day. I drink a decoction of ginger tea, lemon, and honey for my sore throat because I don't want to take meds, too, and it worked.
My grandkids are also doing online classes because of intermittent rains; face-to-face classes were suspended as a storm just left our area.
Likewise, Stay happy and healthy.

Yes, it's busy but with intermittent breaks. I am also taking my ginger, honey and lemon tea. Getting better slowly. I don't like taking medicine unless absolutely necessary.
Yes, digitalization has brought this convenience of online connection and it's really good in situations like this.
Have a good day.

@Jenaisle It's always good to first try home remedies. They say every minor health problem like this, has a simple solution in our house. Mostly they are found in our kitchens.

How are you doing now ma'm? It's quite a while since I heard from you. Though, in general you sound good as usual.
As for the rains, they have taken a break from here. Just nominal drizzling. Nothing much.

@arunima25 Oh my! No sun for 3 weeks? That's a lot of time. Time to keep a watch on what you are eating. Too much of stale intake can easily cause lots of stomach issues. Better to cook fresh and eat. I know you might be aware of these simple things. But couldn't hold back from sharing, so I said. Nothing else!

@abhi_bangal Bangalore stays like this for a long part of the year. It can be depressing and annoying at times . Yes, it's a time to catch cold, waterborne and airborne infections. We have to take care of everything. Thank you for the concern

Good to be here whenever I can. Hope that all is well with you.
The rain has subsided here in the last two days. Its been almost three weeks, but we had no luck with a sunny day. It's drizzling through out the day with some light showers in between.

Good morning to you too! Your post really resonates with me—our stories are quite similar. We just had a typhoon pass by, and now the monsoon rains have intensified. The typhoon may be gone, but the rains definitely haven’t left. Flooding is a big issue around here too, and many areas are still dealing with the aftermath. It's been wet, gray, and difficult for over a week now.
I'm glad your throat is improving—those home remedies do wonders. That scratchy feeling is annoying, but hopefully it clears up soon without needing any meds.
It’s great that you’re able to work from home this week. Adjusting to all these changes while still supporting your students and their families shows real dedication. I hope things ease up weather-wise for both of us soon. Until then, take care, stay warm, and enjoy those peaceful moments like tea with your husband.

@arunima25 Today, Saturday, is the first time I have seen the sun. It shone back, and it looks strangely familiar and welcoming to me, despite my lack of appreciation for it when I see it every day. Maybe I miss sunshine. I decided to repeat my weekly chore of spending hours cleaning my aquarium tank.

Yes, many mylotters from Philippines have mentioned about the typhoon and the ongoing rain woes. I hope that the situation has improved. Here, the rain has subsided in the last three days but not completely stopped. It keeps drizzling the whole day with some intermittent showers. We are hopeful to return back to physical work space in coming week.
I am feeling all okay. The throat pain is gone. But I would continue with ginger and honey tea for a while till this cloudy and cold weather continues. Home remedies do wonders .

@rsa101 That's good that you finally got some sunshine and you appreciated it. We still have not got a sunny day, it's more than three weeks. We got some sun today for an hour, but then it was all clouds and drizzling for the rest of the day.

It's fine here in my city. It had been raining for the last 20 days continuously and we were threatened by flood situation. Thank God our residential area was spared.

Yes, this week working from home gave me enough rest and no need to take leave. I am feeling all okay. The home remedies have worked.

Hmm...agree there. Western Ghats have some beautiful tourist attractions. Also, South has beautiful temple architectures. Well, we have enough attractions in North too.

Good afternoon from my side. Same here, a slow, rainy start to a week that’s shifted gears unexpectedly. Tea with your husband sounds cozy, been doing the same and I'm glad your throat's improving—home remedies can be surprisingly powerful. Good call on giving fun worksheets instead of pressure; sounds like the little ones are going through a lot. Hope the meetings go smoothly and the weather settles soon. Stay warm and well!
P.S. Foot and mouth disease isn't very common but not an isolated case here. Outbreak can happen when the time allows it.

Same here with the rain and the sun just took a quick peek earlier today. Not sure about the outbreak only affecting kids. My mother once mentioned about her sister getting infected with it. All is swell but still well
Have a good weekend too!

Yes, foot and mouth can have an outbreak in no time, but glad that it effects only children who are young and is nothing concerning. Goes like a regular viral thing, except being more contagious.
The rain has subsided but not stopped completely. The intensity has reduced. But it stays cloudy and we still had no luck with a sunny day.
Hope that all is well in your myLot corner. Have a good weekend.

@arunima25 I finished sending aunt's monies. There is some work to be done of course. But that can wait. I have already done half of it. Income tax returns are filed. I was thinking I will be a free bird, but a couple of new tasks have come. One of the family friends needs help. His wife will have to undergo some medical procedure next week, and he is almost dad's age. He has helped us a lot so I owe him. I will have hospital trips next week.

@vandana7 Oh! I see. Sending positive vibes. Hope the procedure goes well for her and there is fast recovery. You too take good care of yourself. Taking care of sick and hospital trips can be exhausting.

Remote work becomes a saviour in such situations. That's one benefit of digitalization and the lock down during pandemic, it has opened one option for us than completely shutting down the work.
Rain has subsided in the last three days but not yet completely stopped. We hope to be able to go back to work coming week.
