This is my dream

My dream is to help every street child I encounter and to help their family obtain a livelihood that would allow them to provide for themselves with comfortable shelter, clothing, food, and all the basic needs they require. I plan to conduct a medical mission every year or as needed, where the poor can have free consultations and free medicines. I plan to establish a scholarship for the indigent but intelligent kids to pursue the profession they choose. I will donate to the home for the aged and the home for orphaned kids, so that they can be nourished well physically and mentally. Of course, primarily, I will attend to my family's basic needs for their physical, mental, and social needs. What else can I do? Do you have any suggestions?

Such aspirations are worthy of being pursued. Why not, if you have the resources to do so? It takes a lot of financial and human resources to do all those things. You can't do it by yourself. Additionally, you should be aware that when you perform charitable work of that nature, you must notify government agencies of your intention to assist. I used to work for a non-governmental organization, and it can be difficult to keep it in good standing and show people that you are not involved in illegal activities like those that were organized to steal money and run.

@Jenaisle It's admirable that you have such noble intentions. However, I'm only here to remind you that not everyone will see what you plan to display. Most people might think you're boasting or that you're doing it to further some hidden agenda. However, you could take a shortcut by volunteering for organizations that share your goals. They would be more than happy to help you fulfill your dream than to start from scratch.

@rsa101 Thank you for your advice and concern. Yes, I will do it with most of the projects. I plan to channel the free meds and consultations through my former student, who's now a board member of the doctor's society in our city. For the scholarships, I plan to conduct them through the university where I previously taught. I don't want to be recognized. I will do it anonymously through other people. It's my intention to help without getting my name on any of the projects. I would wear a disguise if I had to face any connected person. Does that put you at ease now, friend?

Thanks for the reminders. I believe in this Biblical verse: '"It's only through your fruits that men shall know you," from Matthew 7:16. "People's true character and intentions are revealed by their actions and the consequences of their choices, not just by their words or outward appearance. It emphasizes that genuine goodness or badness is demonstrated through behavior and its impact on others." I have good intentions, so this will shine through and be proven in the end.

Very lofty goals. You're a helper. You want to help people. I am a helper too. The best part of helping others isn't that others do better, it's what it does to us as helpers. We gain as much as the ones we help. When you care for those in the street, if you can, send them home with some food for their family. Those children may be out to find dinner. There was a homeless family in Oregon. I met them while visiting my son. I helped them the first time I saw them. It was a mother and a daughter. They were pushing a shopping cart. The second time I saw them, they told me more about themselves. There was a grandmother, a sister and another two of this women's children. Where they stayed, I don't know. I just know that they were out asking for help to bring back to wherever "home" was. I gave them what I could and felt good. I helped. They had a good dinner that night.

My hat's off to you! You're a generous soul. The kindness you give out will always come back to you in so many ways. The trick is not to expect anything in return. I am just happy making people happy. Let's spread this kindness. Pay it forward. May your tribe increase.

@Jenaisle I have had some tough times and got help when I needed it. I think of how I felt and I want to pay it forward. You never know. A small act of kindness can make a huge difference in the life of someone less fortunate. Like you, I am happy making others happy. I hope you and your family are blessed and you can follow your dream. Very warm wishes to you.

I know. We're born to be wealthy as long as we condition our minds to find the positive things in all that we do and be grateful for the small blessings that come our way.

I suggest to conduct family planning to all ages 18 years old and above to suppress the speedy growth in the population that causes poverty to people. I suggest to educate them in choosing their leaders, in that way they can chose the one that is deserving and willing to serve without being corrupt. In that way, they could get all that you mentioned for free.

@Jenaisle i do still believe that education is the most important way to fix or solve our problem. if people are educated enough about the consequences of their decision, i believe that they will be more cautious of their actions.
