Simple little things mean a lot

Have you ever seen this item? (pic displayed) It is a backscratcher, which I bought for only 60 pesos ($1.06), and it has been very useful for me. It's always there, ready for me to use when I can't reach that area in my back that itches so terribly. This simple little thing means a lot to me. There are simple things in our lives that we often disregard because they're seemingly insignificant. However, the truth is that when they're gone, that's the time that we realize how important they are to us. Did you ever have something like that in your life?

I have a back scratcher like that too. In fact, there are a couple of them here. I had this piece of rubber that was used to open jar lids. Some lids are tough to open. I saw this on TV and bought one. I used it for years. Then one day, it was gone. No one knew where it was. I must have looked around for a week before finally giving up. The next several jars I had to open were trouble. I really missed that helper.

Yes, that's true. These little things are very useful. I use a rubber band to open jars.

@Jenaisle I need to get another one of those openers but I'll try a rubber band for now.

It's a common thing for us. I have seen it available when I was a little child. It's made from bamboo. Of course today I can make it with my 3D printer

I have two back scratchers made from bamboo that I keep in different places in the house. One is on my bed and one hanging in the living room on a nail in the wall. I have another one made of metal that telescopes from 4 inches/10 cm to 12 inches/30 cm... I'm always afraid I'll break it so rarely use it. It stays in a box on the headboard of my bed. Bamboo back scratcher. Photo from Walmart.com.

We have a back scratcher …as I have got a broken arm at the moment I have been using it a lot to scratch the side of my body that I can’t reach otherwise ….an itch drives you mad if you can’t get to it so the back scratcher has been a godsend.

I've got one too. I remember buying it in Baguio because there was a lot of it. It's quite memorable and useful to me, and it's still beside my bed today. It, like yours, simply waits patiently for me when I need it.

Little things happen every day while those great things happen once in a blue moon If we just wait for those great things and brush aside those small things that thappen every day one can never be happy
