Church or no church

The Philippines is a predominantly Christian country, and Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are usually church days. This practice was introduced by the Spaniards when they colonized the country decades ago. Eventually, other Christian denominations sprouted.
Nowadays, this practice is still going strong for pious church-goers; however, the number of attendees is decreasing. I, myself, don't religiously go to church every Sunday as required by my religion. I believe that it's more important to have a direct connection with your God, and show you're His follower by doing good things.
What's the use of going to church every Sunday when you treat other people unkindly?
Are you a regular churchgoer? What are your thoughts on this.

I haven't been in a church since I moved out of my mother's house at 18 years old... When my dad was still alive, he said we kids could choose to go to church with mom on Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and Sunday nights if we wanted. (Dad never attended church.) After dad passed away, mom said if we wanted to continue living in her house, we HAD to go to church every time the doors to the church were open... I told her she'd come to regret forcing us to go.
After I moved into my own home, mom kept asking why I didn't want to go to church.
If I have to be forced to do something, then it's not worth doing, in my opinion.
When Pretty was little, if a friend invited her to church, and Pretty WANTED to go, I didn't stop her but I didn't encourage her to go. As an adult, she doesn't see a reason to attend a church, either.

You're right. If you force someone to go, it's useless. I do the same thing with my kids and grandkids.
As for me, I don't go often. And I attended various church services of different denominations because of friends. I believe your religion will not save you, but your faith in producing good actions will. The way you live your life on earth will.

@Jenaisle The way a person lives and how they treat other people is what matters most.

Going to church every Sunday is meant to nurture faith, encourage self-reflection, and inspire people to live out the values they hear like love, compassion, humility, and forgiveness. But church attendance alone doesn't define a person's goodness or spiritual depth. It's how those teachings are applied in daily life, especially in how we treat others, that reveals a person's true character and faith.

I used to go church in my earlier years on Sunday. These days I see God's Word on television clips.

I rarely go to church. I would go more often if I had someone to go with though.

Actually I would enjoy going to church at least twice a month, Problem is the closest church is Greek Orthodox and the Lutheran churches are not too close and I cannot get to them so I do my praying each day at home,

I'm with you. If you lead a good life, I don't feel it's necessary to go to church.
