There are quite a few “creators” I follow on social media (because calling them “people I watch from a distance like a raccoon with Wi-Fi” doesn’t sound as nice). One of my favorites is B. Dylan Hollis. He’s a self-taught “chef”—and I use that term lovingly—who has an obsession with vintage recipes. Which I fully support, by the way. Years ago, I did a whole series on vintage recipes myself, back when the internet was less TikTok and more “here’s 45 pictures of my casserole.” Anyway, I was doom scrolling earlier (as one does) while we were outside after dinner, and I stumbled on this recipe. It’s not that vintage… I mean, it’s from 1990. So depending on who you ask, it’s either charmingly retro or just “last Thursday but with shoulder pads.” I think 35 years makes a car vintage, so by that logic, this lemon pie is eligible for a museum or at least a “Best in Show” ribbon at the county fair. It actually looked really good. And I love lemon-flavored anything. I would probably eat lemon-scented dish soap if it were socially acceptable. So now I’m curious—would you try this recipe? Or are you team “lemon desserts taste like cleaning products”?
