"A Blessing for a Departed Warrior" is the title of the final novel in the Outlander series

Author Diana Gabaldon has been working on it for years. Her books are massive and take forever for her to finish. She just posted a lengthy post on Facebook announcing the title of the 10th and final book. I saw a 2 minute teaser trailer from the San Diego Comic Con last week and in it you see Jamie Fraser reading Claire's first husband's book about the Revolutionary War. He tells her that her first husband, Frank, wrote that he (Jamie) dies in battle. Well Frank would know as he was a historian who lived 200 years in the future. He also had a vested interest to find out what happened to Jamie as Claire never got over him when she returned to the present/future. (it is complicated) Well the title of the final book makes it pretty clear that yes Jamie Fraser will die. I will be interested to see how the author addresses the ghost that visits Claire and Frank in Aberdeen. It was clearly a Scottish man/ghost and eventually Gabaldon confirmed that it was in fact Jamie. I've been curious about that since I first got into the series years ago. Still no word on when it will be published. In the meantime the 8th and final season of the STARZ TV adaptation will be released early next year. That will be interesting too as the screenwriters had to come up with their own ending since this book hadn't been (or maybe still isn't) finished yet. Gabaldon has said she approves of the season and ending.
