Do they name streets after people in your country?

Its a common thing in many countries of the world to see popular streets named after popular people who are dead or still living. Not every country allows this and I am curious to know why they don't. Does your country name streets after notable persons or not?

All the time. Past presidents and historical figures get streets. I used to live on Lincoln Avenue, for example. There are Washington Boulevards and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drives. Franklin Streets and even Barack Obama Avenues.

In our place, it's quite common for streets to be named after famous people. They are often named after national heroes, or sometimes, when certain famous individuals want to leave a legacy, they have streets named after them.
