Indian Dhabas

Dhabas are mostly seen along highways, ideal for travellers. Each Dhaba is unique. I remember visiting a Dhaba on our way to Bengaluru where they served only chapatis I was amazed at the varieties that they had on their menu The food is typically meant for travellers - mostly light but tasty One can pack what one wants which can be eaten in one's car. I wonder if one sees such set ups elsewhere in the world. Image credit:

I have no clue what Indian food tastes like. I was supposed to try it in Singapore, but somehow, I always found myself helplessly drawn to the siren calls of Hainanese Chicken or Duck, as if they had some kind of poultry conspiracy to keep me away from curry and naan.

For what I understand those are roadside restaurants, similar to those we have along our highways.

This looked like Roti Prata or Roti Canal... Depending on where you are from. Best if it is with curry. But nothing beats Mutton curry with Chapati.

@allknowing Oh yes, there are different choices of curry for you to eat roti prata. There are fish, chicken, vegeterian, and mutton one to choose from. By default they will give you fish curry unless you specified which one you want. Some may costs additional.

I’m guessing you are talking about street food. We don’t really have that here…we have fast food restaurants, serving burgers etc, they are brick building that are there permanently. the food I. Your photo does look good though.
