I usually don't talk about sports, but back in the 1980's my daughter and I watched the Chicago Cubs. The baseball song was sung by Harry Caray and yes we sang along. Ryne Sandberg first played for the Phillies where things didn't go well. He was traded to Chicago Cubs in 1981 where he played a lot of seasons. It was exciting to watch him play.
Sadly he passed away at 65 from cancer. He was so young. Do you watch baseball?

Broke my heart. Ryno was the shining star for a team that was abysmal through most of the 80s, and made them a contender in ‘84! I thought it was very classy of the Brewers to have a moment of silence for him before tonight’s game.

I agree very classy of the team. My Dad and I would watch baseball when I was young and went to games so many years ago. Every period of time has players that I admired on and off the field and Ryne Sandberg wanted children to have the chance to be happy.

@FourWalls Over the years have watched a lot of baseball and most of the teams have somebody that just made me want to turn on the game. Hank Aaron played on that team for 2 seasons.

@Fishmomma — Milwaukee has felt the love, so it’s understandable that they’d return it. Every team they visited the first time this year had an empty chair, flowers, and a picture of Ueck in the broadcast booth for them.

My daughter and I really enjoyed watching him play. Baseball is the only sport she has ever watched with me.

65 is really not an age to die. May his soul rest in peace. I have never watched baseball.

I do not watch Baseball
It's not really a game we do here in Scotland.
65 is young right enough
I will be 65 in December and I am still young
