why is the lunch time clock faster than the work time?

July 30, 2025 12:18am CST
I just noticed that anytime I am on lunch break , the time is unusually faster than when I am at work. Same clock but different speed. They say time flies when you are relaxed and doing something pleasurable, but going back to work, the time gets slow. It has to do with the mindset.

It's all in your mind right enough. You need to learn to make a lunch hour, an hour and a half, and then take 20 mins doing a dump before starting work again

Sadly I fear every workplace buys their clocks from the same place …..and they all have that same fault !

It's all in your head—time seems to stretch endlessly when you're working, like you're stuck in some kind of productivity time warp, but the moment you're having fun, it vanishes faster than a donut at an office meeting.

It has everything to do with the mindset. If you are enjoying something, time moves much faster than when you're not.
