I Keep Being Told to Take a Break... that's an unlikely scenario

That's me on a rollercoaster

Hey dudes and dudettes and other creatures. I don't know how long it's been again this time. I can't remember what I've told you about already. I may have mentioned that I was going to take to the stage after a long time. Well, that was awesome. We didn't have a full house but it was more than half-full, and it has given us confidence that the next one will be even better. We were the first amateur theatre back at the theatre where I volunteer. I basically live there these days I've started going to an exercise class called Clubbercise. I don't really like all of the music but it's fun, I have friends there, and it's near to home. I also joined a choir, which practices at our theatre. The choir will be doing some performances but I won't be able to do them due to work commitments. I'm also going to have to abandon the choir if I want to do another show with the amateur group as they practice on the same day at the same time. Speaking of theatre, I (along with my eldest son) am still volunteering there. I man the box office most weekends, sometimes go on the bar. I generally do the bar when shows are on. I haven't done anything in the past week, though, as I have been on holiday. We visited East Sussex, which is on the south coast of England. We have family there. It was me, my husband, and my eldest son that went (youngest son didn't want to join us so he stayed home to look after the cats). We went from Saturday to Thursday. We met up with cousins on a couple of days, we spent one afternoon with my youngest step-daughter, and we spent a day with both step-daughters and all three granddaughters (and their dad and other two grandparents). That day was our youngest granddaughter's birthday. She is 6. She had chosen to visit a farm, which also had a circus and some fairground-style rides. It was a really lovely day, and really special as it was the first time we had spent a birthday with a granddaughter. We have another granddaughter on the way, due on my birthday! We did other things including a visit to Canterbury Cathedral (that's in the county of Kent, which neighbours East Sussex), saw a play at a theatre near to where we were staying, went to some nice pubs and food places. I bought myself a skateboard, which I have been practicing on since we came back. We're back home now. We got back yesterday afternoon. On arrival home, I saw a new game had been delivered so I played that with my eldest son. Today, we have visited local family! We visited my in-laws and my parents. I would usually go to my parents for an evening meal on a Friday but we went at lunch time instead. We had some chippy chips with them and watched some quiz shows. We visited my in-laws before we went to my parents. My mother-in-law had an accident a while ago and had been in hospital. She is home now but it will take some time for her to recover. She has a carer and a physiotherapist coming to help her, and she has various equipment to aid her learning to walk again. She is, understandably, frustrated and bored being stuck in the same room all the time. She is determined to get better, though, and she is slowly improving. My eldest son has been doing various bits of work - he is still doing some private tutoring but he's also been working ad hoc with a friend's haulage/courier company. My youngest son is still having trouble finding work but he does have an interview coming up, and he's finally getting some help from a local support service that helps autistic adults to find work. I think that's all from us for now. Tomorrow, I will be volunteering for box office (I very much enjoy doing that) and then I am going to see a musician (I think he's a musician anyway). My sister's sister-in-law got me a ticket. It'll be the three of us (me, my big sister, and my sister's sister-in-law). I had forgotten about it but then I remembered. I still need to get some writing done. I have a series of articles of which I have one more to write. I might do a little bit when I have finished waffling here. That was one reason I visited Canterbury. I had planned on a day trip until it occurred to me that we'd be nearer while we were on holiday, and we had a free day. The article I am writing is about saints. One of them is Odo, who was the 22nd Archbishop of Canterbury. The position has been vacant since Welby's resignation in January 2025. Welby was the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury. I also need to get some housework done. My husband does most of that but I did say I would do the bathroom and kitchen. I'll do it eventually. There is little to no chance of me actually stopping for a rest at any point! I think that's all from us for now. How have you all been? Image is me on a rollercoaster on Hastings Pier. My son is sitting behind me.

Thanks for the update. I hope your MIL gets better soon. I've been hanging in there. I still miss my husband terribly. That's a great picture.

I'm afraid of heights and never get on roller coasters, Just hanging by my PC due to the heat and keeping near my AC and fan,
