A Little Errand + A Little Self-Care = A Pretty Decent Day!

Hey everyone! Just dropping by to share how my day went—it wasn’t anything grand, but you know those days where you actually do the things on your list instead of staring at them? Yeah, I had one of those. ??
Started my morning with the always-exciting trip to the bank. (I know—try not to be too jealous.) Had to submit a few payments, and surprisingly, the queue wasn’t as painful as I expected. The aircon was working, the person behind me wasn’t breathing down my neck, and the teller actually smiled. It’s the little things, right?
With my “responsible adult” badge earned for the day, I decided to treat myself. I took a detour to the barber shop, and let me tell you—BEST. DECISION. I’ve been needing a bit of a refresh, and today felt like the right time. Not only did I get a solid haircut, but I asked for one of those relaxing treatments too. You know, the kind that makes your scalp feel brand new? For a moment, I thought I might fall asleep in the chair. ??
By the time I left, I looked (and felt) a little more like someone who has their life together—which, let’s be honest, is a rare and fleeting feeling.
Sometimes, a productive errand and a simple self-care moment is all you need to feel good again. Nothing fancy. Just ticking things off, breathing a little easier, and walking out of the barber shop like you're in a slow-mo movie scene.
How was your day? Anyone else got a fresh look recently or treated themselves to something simple but satisfying?

Why not?
It's been ages since I last visited a barber, and I could use a new look—if there's anything left on my face to update, that is! I’ve never let my hair grow long enough for a ponytail, and honestly, I think I prefer short hair.
It’s easy to maintain, comfortable to deal with, and perfect for hot, humid weather when long hair turns into a sticky, neck-clinging nightmare
. During the pandemic, my son decided to grow his hair out super long—so long that some people mistook him for a girl! Now, he's chopped it back to his neckline, and balance has been restored.

@rsa101 My hair has been long several times in my life... I do like it short sometimes but it's down to the middle of my back right now when it's wet. When it's dry, it doesn't look that long because the curls draw it up toward my head.
I will, eventually, get it cut short again. And, you're right, short hair is easier to take care of and looks neater on a guy.
But, it costs more because you have to keep it shorter. Barbers cost money. Growing it long doesn't cost anything.
I've also been called "miss" or "ma'am" at times.

@DaddyEvil Haircuts here cost around $8–10, which isn’t too bad. During the pandemic, when everything was shut down—including barbershops—my wife took matters (and scissors) into our own hands. Let’s just say the results were... experimental. So, when barbershops reopened, I raced back faster than you can say “uneven bangs.” Barbers, as it turns out, are far superior haircutters than my dear wife—though I value my life too much to tell her that directly!
