A African American 14 year old boy, George Stinny, Jr. was executed in South Carolina on June, 16, 1944. He had been wrongly convicted of murdering two young girls. He had not received a fair trial, his civil rights had been violated ,and he had immediately been executed. He remains the youngest executed in the U S in the 20th century.

There's a YouTube channel that has scans of such oddities in history. Very interesting.

For every George Stinny or Emmett Till there are probably a hundred others that we know nothing about. A horrible time in American history.
