Got the notification that my prescription was ready at the pharmacy, and I took that as a sign from the universe: “Go forth, and also get fried chicken.”
So I fired up the KFC app, and wouldn’t you know it—they were running a promo: spend $15, get a free 8-piece of fried chicken. Challenge accepted.
My mother-in-law wanted a Famous Bowl (hold the corn—because apparently, corn is extinct now), and I always go big on the sides. Plus, have you had their bundt cakes? That thing could solve emotional crises. So I added one of those too.
End result? For $21, we got:
An 8-piece fried chicken (free! my favorite flavor)
A corn-less Famous Bowl (RIP corn)
Large mashed potatoes & gravy
Large mac & cheese
And the decadent chocolate choco chip cake that made me feel briefly like royalty
No cooking. No dishes. Just sweet, greasy victory.
I could go into the kitchen and take a photo of the food, but honestly? You’re getting a picture of the receipt. It’s got all the drama and none of the crumbs.
So… what did you have for dinner tonight, and was it served with the same level of smug satisfaction?
