Three years after winning an Olympic gold medal for track and field 16 year old Elizabeth "Betty" Robinson Schwartz was in a serious plane accident. Thinking she was dead she is put in the trunk of a car and taken to the morgue. It was discovered upon examination that she was not dead, but in a coma. She was in a wheelchair for six months, and then it took two years before she could walk normally again. She slowly recovered and five years later she preformed at the Olympics again where her team won gold.
