Let Me Do It, Or....

Today I went for my morning walk and got back home after two hours. It was going to be 8 a.m. I found my father cleaning up the store with a broom. I was shocked. He is now in his 80 s. I took the broom from his hand and asked him why he was doing such a tiring work. He smiled and said, " Let me do it. At this age I need to be active lest I would get old." Somehow I took him to his room.

Thank you. I saw he was exhausted. That's the reason why I took the broom from him and took him to his room to rest.

Yes, your father is right. Doing simple chores will help him to have good health. Doing nothing will coz him trouble. One of the secrets of Japan, is that they don't stop working even if they are old. Coz once your body was beaten by work since you were young and suddenly stops doing its routine work, they will have a hard time adjusting, which gives them muscle pain and other body problems.

Thank you, my friend. My father never sits quiet. Everyday he walks around two kms everyday with his friends, back home he does some yoga and breathing exercises. He never uses a vehicle to go somewhere But when I saw him yesterday morning, he was gasping. Therefore I took him to his room for rest. He doesn't have any problem whatsoever. But now he is old.

@Shivram59 Ohh! I think you need someone to watch over him since he is old. That's so nice to know, my dad had to be scold by my mom everyday so he will get out of bed and drink his medicine and eat breakfast, and then my mom will scold him again so he will go down with his friend to take their morning walk. My dad is so lazy.

I think as long as your dad can do it, he should do it.

He can do it. He walks nearly two kms everyday in the morning and does yoga and breathing exercises. On that day I saw he was gasping. Therefore I took him to to his room to have a rest.

Thank you. I saw he has got tired. That's why I decided to take him to rest. He has been a very hard worker, but now he is not strong enough to do tiring works.

@cherigucchi He walks around two kms everyday with his friends. Along with that he does a little yoga and breathing exercises at home. He seldom sits quiet.

As long as he doesn’t do too much it may be good to let him do some jobs….it will keep him active and give him a purpose too. Just my thoughts.

He already does a lot of physical activities everyday. Walks around two kms every morning with his friends, does yoga and breathing exercises and never sits quiet. You can see him doing something till bedtime. Yesterday I saw him gasping. Obviously he was tired, and I thought he should take some rest. He has been a very hard worker till he was young.

Ask him to take light walks. He shouldn't do house hold chores at this age.

He already walks that distance every morning with his friends. Plus, back home, he does a little yoga and breathing exercises He had no problem. However I know old age is a problem in itself. My mother who. Is two years younger is fit too.

You saw that he was exhausted so you made him stop and get some rest. However if he has no heart issues he should be allowed to do light exercises. It would be good for his heart and overall well being.

Thank you He has no issue whatsoever, but he is old. When I saw him, he was gasping I decided to stop him. Everyday he goes for a walk with his friends. Back home he does a little yoga. I think that much physical activity is enough for him
