This time of year we get ants in the kitchen. They are small red ants and their bite is quite painful You do not realise until you see them crawling on you. We have this mild insecticide NOTIX that takes care of this menace instantly. It is safe and can be used even on the kitchen platform. To avoid ants getting on anything sweet we keep the bowl on a water moat.

I am glad that ants do not come inside here. In Switzerland I sprinkled cinnamon on the kitchen counters to get rid of ants.

We see them in the rainy season but this dust gets rid of them

@allknowing - I remember the problem was more during spring and autumn, they did not come in during summer.
